Waking up with the locals at 5 o'clock in the morning, Leigh and I ventured onto the streets to buy breakfast as many Indonesians do every day. From sweet, palm sugar pancakes, to fried tempe and tofu, and Jakarta's famous bubur ayam (chicken porridge) that goes down surprisingly well despite the stifling, humid heat. Leigh and I produced this article for SBS Feast Magazine's regular column Global Breakfasts, which delved past eggs on toast to see how other cultures start the day.
